something is wrong with this, but i cant figure out how to make it right!! (with respect to perspective/shading, etc)

The shading is cool. I think the problem with the perspective is that things that are farther away should be smaller.

Yeah, you could could make the legs slightly narrow toward the feet. I think that shading could enhance that too, maybe gradually getting darker toward the feet.
