Yes need use layers for make it cleaner i just not good understand english so not often getting fast questions i can say that you can draw something and use to create layers i dont know max number but u can create 13 exactly but u cant delete them u can hide , but sometimes when u hide layer and start draw on that another one then can happend so that those 1 hidden will again appear there is decide

Decide then need move to last layer for exemple 13 and hide it then move on 1 back on previous layer before him 12 and also hide then come back on 11 on which u will need to draw and start to draw then those hidden layers not will appear until u not will manually unhide them

You can and not hide layer i just right now check it you can make layer 2 some transparency by keys shift+A but you should then make back Brush alpha to 100% sometimes connection of shift+A can make and brush alpha change ! and black color can became more grey.. then will need back and make brush alpha 100% and again draw line. before use advises try them on easy draws. i just wanted suggest. Have good rest in drawing!
